10 Issue 553. August 2013
Over the past twelve months Rotary
Down Under has been working with a
Web Service Provider to develop a Web
Hosting Service platform that could be
used by all Rotary Clubs and Districts.
The main purpose was to provide
common Rotary branding and web
page image across Australia and
Following in-depth consultations
with Rotary Clubs and Districts,
the development of the project
significantly broadened in scope,
from being a single website concept,
into providing a full internet/intranet
solution for all.
It was understood that a significant
amount of work would be required to
create and manage the websites. The
Board was always mindful of providing
a quality tested product, if future time
consuming administrative problems
were to be avoided. All Rotary Clubs
and Districts are independent entities
and separate service contracts would
be required with each of them.
It eventually became very clear to the
Board that a successful economical,
timely, and practical solution was
not currently available, despite the
goodwill and continual hard work of the
Rotary Down Under staff and the Web
Service Provider engaged to develop
the new platform. Hundreds of Clubs
and Districts already have successful
websites, and so the common Rotary
branding and web page image was not
going to be universally taken-up.
The Board apologises to those Clubs
and Districts inconvenienced by the
delay in reaching this decision.
To all who have expressed interest
in the Web Hosting Service advertised
in recent months, we sincerely thank
you for your support. Please
contact 02 9633 4888 or email
if you have any queries on this matter.
